Explore the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in College Station!

Posted by Jessica McFall Tue, Aug23, 2016 @ 01:14PM

We've recently compared several different trucks to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline, but today we're going to do something a little different. We're going to tell you all about the new Ridgeline and what it has to offer! Even though you probably have a taste of what to expect, Allen Honda wants to give you the comprehensive list of what to expect in the new Ridgeline. We think you'll be impressed, so let's begin!

The Truck Bed

Bet you didn't see that one coming! Yes, the truck bed is one of the major upgrades that Honda gave the Ridgeline, and we can't argue with the outcome. This is no run-of-the-mill truck bed only to be used for carrying large cargo. This truck bed revolutionizes the future of truck beds in several ways but we'll start with the way it opening. Instead of the standard pull-down opening, the tailgate also opens like a door to maximize hauling capabilities. For those of you that like to tailgate before the game, the truck bed has a plug so you can plug anything, even a TV and set it right in the bed! It's a game changer, literally. It also has the first Truck Bed Audio System so you can rock out anywhere, as well as an in-bed trunk to take advantage of extra storage space. Like we said before – this truck bed has it all and more.

The Cabin

You'll forget you're in a pick up truck and feel like you're in a luxury SUV while driving the Ridgeline. Honda really implemented the best of the best when it came to interior features. For starters, there's an available 8-inch touch screen, push start button, multi-information display, steering wheel controls, roomy center console, 540-watt premium audio system, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, remote engine start, and the list goes on. You might never want to leave this truck with all of the amazing things that it can do!

Safety

We include safety features on here separately, because they are just that thought out. Honda really made an effort to make the driver and passengers of the Ridgeline feel extra safe. The Ridgeline has blind spot information on the standard rearview camera to alert you of approaching vehicles, Honda LaneWatch, and a multi-view rearview camera. Even though the IIHS and NHTSA have yet to rate the Ridgeline for its safety, we can all rest assured that these are top-of-the-line safety features.

Are you beaming with excitement yet? We bet so! The new Ridgeline is turning heads all over the Allen Honda showroom. Think you can handle the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in College Station? We invite you to stop in for a test drive today!

First Look at the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station

Posted by Jessica McFall Mon, Aug15, 2016 @ 09:27PM

Exciting news is here at Allen Honda! It's been announced that the 10th generation Civic Hatchback will make it's way to the Allen Honda showroom this fall! We know you're dying to find out all of the details about this new car, and we've got them for you. There's so much to look forward to in the 2017 Honda lineup of new vehicles, but follow along as we highlight the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in College Station!

So where do we start? Well, let's start by a quote from Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The Civic Hatch has been a staple for Honda in Europe, but has long been the forbidden fruit for Honda fans in the U.S. Now, we’re bringing this sporty, stylish and versatile Civic Hatchback to North America, as we amp up the performance of our incredible Civic lineup with each new Civic model.”

 2017_Honda_Civic_Hatchback_Debut_Photo_8.15.16_FINAL.jpg

It's not forbidden any longer for all of you U.S. citizens! The Civic Hatch styling is European-inspired and a head-turner, for sure, with 5-doors. It will be available in 5 different trims (LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Sport Touring) with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine with a 174 horsepower. But it's not just a beautiful, powerful car you're getting, it's a fuel efficient one, too! The anticipated EPA-rated fuel economy is 31 MPG city, 40 highway and 34 combined! So you can have your cake and eat it too with this new Civic.

As far as safety goes, you're as safe as can be as the prestigious Honda Sensing suite, which will be available on most trims. This includes top-of-the-line safety technology such as Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning integrated with Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, and Forward Collision Warning. Honda is targeting top-class safety ratings for the Hatchback like a 5-star NCAP overall vehicle rating and to be an IIHS Top Safety Pick+.

We can't speak for everyone, but we're pretty pumped for the arrival of the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station! Allen Honda will this new Civic in stock come fall 2016, but if you just can't wait for a new car, check out our other new options!

New College Station Trucks: 2017 Ridgeline vs. Chevy Colorado

Posted by Jessica McFall Thu, Jul28, 2016 @ 08:03PM

Shopping options for new College Station trucks? You're making a great decision because there is an amazing selection of trucks out there today. One of the best things about new trucks is their versatility. They are functional enough to tow, load or get dirty, but they're also now luxurious enough to drive to the big city on a hot date! The two trucks Allen Honda is comparing today are no exception to the previously mentioned versatility, and those would be the 2017 Ridgeline and new Chevy Colorado. Which has more to offer? Let's find out!

You wouldn't want to choose a truck without maximum performance capabilities, so the Ridgeline is the way to go. The Honda truck's 280 horsepower V6 engine is refreshing as it's quite a bit faster than it's predecessor. The Chevy truck on the other hand touts only 200 horsepower and has the acceleration more of a mid-size care than SUV. Speaking of SUVs, the Ridgeline has the cabin-feel of the SUV being wider and favoring its cousin, the Honda Pilot. This is great news for those of you who plan to cart the family around in the new truck! The new Colorado is slightly larger than previous generations, but still feels narrow and cramped.

To move to the fun stuff, the Ridgeline has way more technology and comfort offerings. The Ridgeling RTL-E Black Edition has memory seats that activate different, customized positions for the driver. But memory seats aren't the only feature that the Colorado doesn't offer, it's the one-touch power windows, the push-start button, dual-zone AC, standard adaptive cruise control, standard Bluetooth wireless (Bluetooth costs extra on the Colorado), an in-bed trunk, a truck bed audio system, a 115-volt electrical outlet, and rear AC vents (a must in Texas). With all of these features combined, you'll be significantly more comfortable in the Ridgeline.

On top of all of this, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in Waco is takes more safety measures than does the Colorado. The Ridgeline (RTL-E/Black Edition) has standard Collision Mitigation Braking System, which warns the driver of a potential collision and will automatically brake if the driver doesn't react to alert. The Colorado offers a warning system, but not the automated braking feature that could potentially reduce the collision. The Ridgeline also offers a cross-path warning system and a 3D high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment that provides extra impact protection.

Partial to the Ridgeline after this comparison? Out of these new College Station trucks, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is more powerful, is safer and has better feature offerings than the new Chevy Colorado! Don't hesitate on seeing the Ridgeline for yourself– stop by Allen Honda for a test drive!
