College Station SUVs: 2016 CR-V vs. 2016 Rogue

Posted by Jessica McFall Wed, Apr27, 2016 @ 09:19PM

The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and the College Station SUVs are amazing! Shopping for a new SUV can be time consuming, and everyone at Allen Honda understands that. We'd like to help you save some of your valuable time by comparing two of the most well-known SUVs on the road today – the 2016 Honda CR-V and the 2016 Nissan Rogue. Both have a lot to offer, but which one will win your heart?

What's the point of having an SUV if you can't be the most powerful on the road? The CR-V's 2.4 DOHC 4 cylinder engine cranks out 185 horsepower, and can go from zero to 60 MPH in just 8.5 seconds! The Rouge, you ask? With only 170 horsepower, it takes a minimum of 9.1 seconds to reach 60 MPH. The CR-V proves to be mightier.

Concerning safety, one of these College Station SUVs stands out and that would be the 2016 CR-V! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts several studies for safety, including a front crash prevention system test. The CR-V's Collision Mitigation Braking System was rated "Superior" with 5-point score, while the Rogue scored only 1 point and rated as "Basic." In the NHTSA 35 MPH crash test, the CR-V took away a 5-star overall rating while the Rouge fell short with only 4-stars. This shouldn't come as a surprise considering the CR-V was a "Top Pick Plus" for safety in 2015, when the Rouge was only a standard "Top Pick" in 2015.

If you have several passengers with you the majority of the time, or even if you just like having a little extra room in your vehicle, the CR-V beats out the Rogue on this aspect, too. The CR-V has more cargo area with the rear seats folded, and even has a switch to automatically lower the rear seats! No more pushing, pulling and breaking a sweat just to get that rear seat to lower. The Rouge only has manual seat lowering, so putting that seat up and down will constantly be a feat. It's a win-win situation in the CR-V!

If you don't mind us pointing out the obvious here, we'd say that out of these two College Station SUVs, the 2016 CR-V is the better pick! We'd love to see you stop by Allen Honda to see the unbeatable CR-V in person! Stop in today and one of our helpful associates will be happy to assist!

College Station Sedans: How the 2016 Civic Beats Out the 2016 Jetta

Posted by Jessica McFall Tue, Mar08, 2016 @ 10:28PM

hubspot-new-embed

Are you in the market for one of the fabulous new College Station sedans? Maybe you're looking for a certain price point, or maybe you're looking for the safest vehicle in town. Either way, Allen Honda is confident that we can get you the sedan of your dreams! There is one in particular we have in mind – and that would be the 2016 Honda Civic. The Honda Civic is superior in several ways to the 2016 VW Jetta. Let's find out how!

  1. Better safety features than the 2016 Jetta.

With the 2016 Civic, you can drive knowing that you're keeping yourself and your loved ones safe. The 2016 Civic has speed sensors AND seat sensors that will deploy the smart airbags with different levels of force depending on how fast you are going, and what size the person in the front seat is. Not to mention the optional lane departure warning system that alerts an inattentive driver that they are cruising into the wrong late.

  1. Made to be higher quality.

Honda has a reputation for quality, and it doesn't stop with the 2016 Civic. Honda was named 14th in initial quality by J.D. Power while Volkswagen was way down the list at number 23. On a similar note, the 2015 survey of 3-year-old car owners, Honda was ranked 5thin reliability, and Volkswagen, again down the list, as 21st.

  1. Unbeatable fuel economy.

Volkswagen may have been called out recently about cheating on the American air pollution tests, but Honda is doing quite the opposite. The 2016 Civic gets 31 city/42 hwy MPG* on average. The Jetta? 28 city/39 hwy MPG* and on top of that requires premium fuel.

  1. Room for everyone.

Did you know the Civic is rated a Mid-size car by the EPA? The Jetta is only considered a Compact car because it is much smaller. In fact, you'll notice that the Civic has 3.7 cubic feet more passenger room than the Jetta does. In addition to that, the Civic's trunk lift-over height is 26.8 inches and the Jetta's is 28.2. This makes loading items in the Civic much more accessible.

  1. Top-of-the-line technology.

The Civic, unlike the Jetta, offers a remote starting system, which allows you to start the vehicle from inside of the driver's house so your car is nice and toasty by the time you enter. And speaking of toasty, the Civic and Jetta both offer front heated seats, but the Civic Touring makes heated seats available to those passengers in the rear seats! Heated rear seats are not even an option in the Jetta.

See what we mean? When considering your options for College Station sedans, keep in mind that the 2016 Civic is safer, higher quality, roomier and an overall better choice! Ready to get behind the wheel of the new Civic? Allen Honda is happy to get you in for a test drive! Stop in today!

College Station SUVs: 2016 CR-V vs. 2016 RAV4

Posted by Jessica McFall Fri, Feb26, 2016 @ 06:51PM

What "drives" your decision most when considering one of the amazing College Station SUVs? Is it the technology you most look for, safety, or maybe even fuel economy? Everyone wants something different out of an SUV, but today, Allen Honda has a mission to find an SUV that has it all. We've searched far and wide, and have come up with two College Station SUVs to put to the test: the 2016 CR-V and the 2016 Rav4.

When considering safety as a number one priority, we have to say that the 2016 Honda CR-V takes the win on this one! The CR-V EX/EX-L/Touring has standard HondaLink Assist, which means it has a unique GPS system to alert emergency crews to come directly to the scene when airbags deploy. The Rav4 does not have this capability, which would delay help if you were to be involved in an accident. In addition to this helpful feature, the CR-V also has better safety ratings! With a 5-star overall rating in the NHTSA crash test, the CR-V can't possibly get any safer. The Rav4 only has a 4-star overall safety rating.

In addition to safety, the CR-V has better fuel economy than the 2016 Rav4. This 185 horsepower SUV gets 26 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway*. With only 176 horsepower and 24 city/33 hwy MPG*, the Rav4 doesn’t quite keep up with the CR-V. Bottom line? You can have power and efficiency in the CR-V! How cool is that?

Maybe safety, power and fuel efficiency are pluses for you, but what you're really looking for are the cool extras! Well, it may not come as a surprise, but the 2016 CR-V has overall better features than the Rav4. The CR-V has power-touch windows, armrest-mounted mirror controls, maintenance free battery, and speed-sensitive variable-assist power steering, just to name a few. You'll be more comfortable and be more in control with the CR-V.

So there you have it, folks! Out of these College Station SUVs, the 2016 CR-V beats the 2016 Rav4 out in safety, power, efficiency and extras! Ready to take the next step and try out the new CR-V? We invite you to come by Allen Honda for a test drive!

See your 2016 CR-V options!
