Anticipating the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station

Posted by Jessica McFall Thu, Sep22, 2016 @ 07:23PM

The word on the street is that Honda is debuting a new vehicle in the U.S. – only previously available in other countries. Keep on the look out for the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station at Allen Honda – it's going to be a popular car. First, let's check out what to expect in this new hatchback.

The turbocharged engine in the new Civic Hatchback is something you could only dream of in a hatchback of this size. The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine has an available 6-speed manual transmission and produces an impressive 174 horsepower. And while we haven't seen an official unveiling in America just yet, the debut of the Honda Civic Hatchback at the Geneva Auto Show showed a hatchback prototype that we should expect to be very similar to the U.S. model.

According to an article by caranddriver.com, "The styling of the new Civic hatch has a slightly more conventional four-door appearance than that of the current model… To our eyes, this may be the best-realized iteration of the 10th-generation Civic styling. The model has been on sale in sedan form since last fall and is just now being joined by the two-door coupe. In making a bigger-than-usual break with its predecessor in terms of engineering and design, the new version, Honda hopes, will recapture the Civic's mojo after a couple of milquetoast designs."

In addition to the new styling and power, the Civic Hatchback will also have the latest and greatest in the automotive technology like Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and an information display touch screen. So, as you can already see, we have a lot to look forward to in the new 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station!

Sleek European styling, a powerful engine, top safety features and incredible fuel economy... What can the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station not do? While you're patiently waiting for the Civic Hatch to arrive in our Allen Honda showroom, stick around a while and check out what else we have in stock. We'll be happy to help you out!

Expectations for the 2017 Honda CR-V in College Station

Posted by Jessica McFall Wed, Sep21, 2016 @ 07:08PM

Question of the year – is the 2017 Honda CR-V in College Station worth the wait? Absolutely. This new CR-V is anticipated to be the most advanced Honda CR-V yet, building off the newly redesigned 2015 model year CR-V. All in all, it will be a top-line model that introduces new safety features, new equipment choices and best off all, the price won't be too ridiculously high. Allen Honda is excited to have this new SUV in stock, but while we wait for it to arrive, let's go over some details of the new 2017 CR-V!

According to Opptrends.com, "…The redesigned Honda will have front grille entirely made of chrome with automatic HID front lights. Moreover, it will come with sportier bumpers as well as the roof-mounted rear spoiler. The 18-inch wheels will be completely restored and they will have a stylish look. As for the safety features, blind spot recognition will be added to the already existing ones."

Sounds pretty dreamy, right? Another car site, carpreview.com, speculates that it's almost certain to offer a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. "Honda could well offer the ’17 CR-V with two engine choices: a naturally aspirated version in the lower-priced trim levels and the turbo 1.5 in upper grades. It does just that in the Civic, with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder rated at 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Expect a continuously variable transmission to continue in place of a conventional automatic. And a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD) for all trim grades will repeat."

This sounds like a vehicle worth waiting for to everyone at Allen Honda. However, because we don't have a firm date set for the release of the new 2017 Honda CR-V in College Station, why not look into the 2016 CR-V options? Take one for a test drive today by stopping by our store!

Introducing the 2017 Accord in College Station!

Posted by Jessica McFall Mon, Sep19, 2016 @ 03:05PM

It's a new model year for Honda, which means brand new goodies to look forward to. One of our favorite 2017 models so far is the 2017 Accord in College Station for several reasons. But before Allen Honda goes into those reasons, can we just acknowledge that the Accord is going on its 41st year in production? Talk about evolving into perfection! The Honda Accord truly is a staple in the Honda lineup, and this year is no different. Let's check it out.

Because safety features are really what make or break a new car decision, let's talk about those first. Honda really had the consumer in mind when designing the new 2017 Honda Accord in San Antonio, and it's evident in the technology that was implemented. Honda created the Honda Sensing™ suite that will alert you of dangers outside the vehicle when you might not see them yourself. In addition to the Honda Sensing™ suite, there is the Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System and the Road Departure Mitigation System. To put it lightly, the Accord will keep you safe in a variety of scenarios!

So, what can you expect in this new Accord? Well, for starters the 2017 Accord has a grille design that will make you double take when you notice the (available) LED headlights and daytime running lights. The body style is elegant and bold with angular lines and beautifully designed wheels for the perfect combination of sophistication and confidence. It's not just the headlights that are LED, the taillights are too for 360 degrees of an eye-catching vehicle.

Aside from the exterior, you have some interior features to look forward to. The interior is completely refined to make driving the Accord enjoyable. Features that were created for optimal driving comfort include the ergonomically-designed steering wheel with controls, 10-way adjustable memory seats, one-click shifting gears, a push start button, dual-zone AC, HomeLink®, and a functional center console complete with space for a tablet.

Lastly, there is an Accord Hybrid option for those of you who are fuel-conscious. The Accord Hybrid gets an incredible 49/47-MPG city/highway* which really makes an impact considering competition doesn't get more than 43 city MPG. The Accord Hybrid is making waves in the Hybrid category because not only is it fuel efficient, but it still gets 212 horsepower with the use of two motors! This is made possible by the fact that it can switch into Sport Mode for better acceleration.

As beautiful as it sounds on this blog, the real wow moment is when you see it in person. So don't hesitate any longer – head on over to Allen Honda today for a test drive!

Explore the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in College Station!

Posted by Jessica McFall Tue, Aug23, 2016 @ 01:14PM

We've recently compared several different trucks to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline, but today we're going to do something a little different. We're going to tell you all about the new Ridgeline and what it has to offer! Even though you probably have a taste of what to expect, Allen Honda wants to give you the comprehensive list of what to expect in the new Ridgeline. We think you'll be impressed, so let's begin!

The Truck Bed

Bet you didn't see that one coming! Yes, the truck bed is one of the major upgrades that Honda gave the Ridgeline, and we can't argue with the outcome. This is no run-of-the-mill truck bed only to be used for carrying large cargo. This truck bed revolutionizes the future of truck beds in several ways but we'll start with the way it opening. Instead of the standard pull-down opening, the tailgate also opens like a door to maximize hauling capabilities. For those of you that like to tailgate before the game, the truck bed has a plug so you can plug anything, even a TV and set it right in the bed! It's a game changer, literally. It also has the first Truck Bed Audio System so you can rock out anywhere, as well as an in-bed trunk to take advantage of extra storage space. Like we said before – this truck bed has it all and more.

The Cabin

You'll forget you're in a pick up truck and feel like you're in a luxury SUV while driving the Ridgeline. Honda really implemented the best of the best when it came to interior features. For starters, there's an available 8-inch touch screen, push start button, multi-information display, steering wheel controls, roomy center console, 540-watt premium audio system, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, remote engine start, and the list goes on. You might never want to leave this truck with all of the amazing things that it can do!

Safety

We include safety features on here separately, because they are just that thought out. Honda really made an effort to make the driver and passengers of the Ridgeline feel extra safe. The Ridgeline has blind spot information on the standard rearview camera to alert you of approaching vehicles, Honda LaneWatch, and a multi-view rearview camera. Even though the IIHS and NHTSA have yet to rate the Ridgeline for its safety, we can all rest assured that these are top-of-the-line safety features.

Are you beaming with excitement yet? We bet so! The new Ridgeline is turning heads all over the Allen Honda showroom. Think you can handle the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in College Station? We invite you to stop in for a test drive today!

First Look at the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station

Posted by Jessica McFall Mon, Aug15, 2016 @ 09:27PM

Exciting news is here at Allen Honda! It's been announced that the 10th generation Civic Hatchback will make it's way to the Allen Honda showroom this fall! We know you're dying to find out all of the details about this new car, and we've got them for you. There's so much to look forward to in the 2017 Honda lineup of new vehicles, but follow along as we highlight the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in College Station!

So where do we start? Well, let's start by a quote from Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The Civic Hatch has been a staple for Honda in Europe, but has long been the forbidden fruit for Honda fans in the U.S. Now, we’re bringing this sporty, stylish and versatile Civic Hatchback to North America, as we amp up the performance of our incredible Civic lineup with each new Civic model.”

 2017_Honda_Civic_Hatchback_Debut_Photo_8.15.16_FINAL.jpg

It's not forbidden any longer for all of you U.S. citizens! The Civic Hatch styling is European-inspired and a head-turner, for sure, with 5-doors. It will be available in 5 different trims (LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Sport Touring) with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine with a 174 horsepower. But it's not just a beautiful, powerful car you're getting, it's a fuel efficient one, too! The anticipated EPA-rated fuel economy is 31 MPG city, 40 highway and 34 combined! So you can have your cake and eat it too with this new Civic.

As far as safety goes, you're as safe as can be as the prestigious Honda Sensing suite, which will be available on most trims. This includes top-of-the-line safety technology such as Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning integrated with Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, and Forward Collision Warning. Honda is targeting top-class safety ratings for the Hatchback like a 5-star NCAP overall vehicle rating and to be an IIHS Top Safety Pick+.

We can't speak for everyone, but we're pretty pumped for the arrival of the 2017 Civic Hatchback in College Station! Allen Honda will this new Civic in stock come fall 2016, but if you just can't wait for a new car, check out our other new options!

New College Station Trucks: 2017 Ridgeline vs. Chevy Colorado

Posted by Jessica McFall Thu, Jul28, 2016 @ 08:03PM

Shopping options for new College Station trucks? You're making a great decision because there is an amazing selection of trucks out there today. One of the best things about new trucks is their versatility. They are functional enough to tow, load or get dirty, but they're also now luxurious enough to drive to the big city on a hot date! The two trucks Allen Honda is comparing today are no exception to the previously mentioned versatility, and those would be the 2017 Ridgeline and new Chevy Colorado. Which has more to offer? Let's find out!

You wouldn't want to choose a truck without maximum performance capabilities, so the Ridgeline is the way to go. The Honda truck's 280 horsepower V6 engine is refreshing as it's quite a bit faster than it's predecessor. The Chevy truck on the other hand touts only 200 horsepower and has the acceleration more of a mid-size care than SUV. Speaking of SUVs, the Ridgeline has the cabin-feel of the SUV being wider and favoring its cousin, the Honda Pilot. This is great news for those of you who plan to cart the family around in the new truck! The new Colorado is slightly larger than previous generations, but still feels narrow and cramped.

To move to the fun stuff, the Ridgeline has way more technology and comfort offerings. The Ridgeling RTL-E Black Edition has memory seats that activate different, customized positions for the driver. But memory seats aren't the only feature that the Colorado doesn't offer, it's the one-touch power windows, the push-start button, dual-zone AC, standard adaptive cruise control, standard Bluetooth wireless (Bluetooth costs extra on the Colorado), an in-bed trunk, a truck bed audio system, a 115-volt electrical outlet, and rear AC vents (a must in Texas). With all of these features combined, you'll be significantly more comfortable in the Ridgeline.

On top of all of this, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in Waco is takes more safety measures than does the Colorado. The Ridgeline (RTL-E/Black Edition) has standard Collision Mitigation Braking System, which warns the driver of a potential collision and will automatically brake if the driver doesn't react to alert. The Colorado offers a warning system, but not the automated braking feature that could potentially reduce the collision. The Ridgeline also offers a cross-path warning system and a 3D high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment that provides extra impact protection.

Partial to the Ridgeline after this comparison? Out of these new College Station trucks, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is more powerful, is safer and has better feature offerings than the new Chevy Colorado! Don't hesitate on seeing the Ridgeline for yourself– stop by Allen Honda for a test drive!
